Their Finest Hour - Battle Of Britain
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

Näytönpäivitys on etenkin nopeissa AT-koneissa esimerkillisen ripeää.
TFH on selvästi yksi PC:n parhaita pelejä.
1990 KevätTheir Finest Hour deals with what was perhaps the most decisive period of the Second World War: the Battle of Britain. German bombers thundered into British airspace squadron after squadron, heedless of the radar network and heavy fighter resistance, and dropped their deadly cargo on cities of millions such as London. TFH is an exceptional game in that it presents the war through the eyes of both sides. The player is free to choose whether to fly a British Spitfire or Hurricane, or a German fighter or bomber.
After choosing the aircraft, a mission menu appears, from which you pick the mission you fancy. The Spitfire and Hurricane fly only bomber interception sorties and the occasional sortie against German fighters. The German aircraft menu offers a choice of a couple of fighters and four bombers. The fighters generally fly bomber escort missions and now and then combat sorties. There's a lot to do in a bomber: besides the flying itself, the player has to handle the jobs of the bombardier, the tail gunner and the side gunners, although the guns can be set to automatic fire, in which case they use up considerably more ammunition.
TFH has clearly been developed with the same system as Battlehawks 1942, but all the routines have been improved. The screen update is exemplarily brisk, especially on fast AT machines. The sound side doesn't exactly dazzle; there's no music (thankfully), but there are a couple of sound effects. A bullet ricocheting off the fuselage is very well done even on the PC's dismal sound generator. The game supports the Ad-Lib card, and I do recommend getting one, as the game gains whole new dimensions with a sound card.
On top of all this, the game has a pilot roster where you can save the missions you've flown and from which you can pick wingmen and crew members. The icing on the cake is a separate utility program for designing missions for yourself and your mates.
Playability doesn't get much better than this, though making selections with the joystick is awkward. There's plenty of appeal, and it lasts a long time. Indeed, I haven't come across a game this hard to tear myself away from in a long while. TFH is clearly one of the best games on the PC.
