Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

Vaan kosketus hirmuisen olennon vie ritarin pinnasta teräskotelon. Tatsi toinen viimeinen on, jättäen jäljelle luurangon. Ilman lihasta ei liikkeelle pääse pihasta.
Jokainen alan mies muistanee erinomaisen Ghosts 'n Goblinsin, jonka 16-bittiversiokin on Eliteltä tulossa. Vaan U.S. Goldpa tempaisi jatko-osan ensi pukin pussiin.
Kuusnelosen versio on sellainen ihan kiva peli. Originaali voittaa äänipuolessa, mutta lopputulos on kuitenkin pelattava. Pahin miinus tulee ritarin taipumuksesta silloin tällöin takertua taustagrafiikkaan.
Amigaversiossa on luonnollisesti parempi grafiikka, mutta ennenkaikkea harvinainen ilmiö: peliin sopiva ja oikeaa tunnelmaa luova äänikudos. ST-versio ei suostunut latautumaan, joten olkaa varuillanne.
Rutisemista löytyy vain pelin herkkyydestä heittää ritariressu metrikaupalla taaksepäin aina kuoleman viikatteen hipaistessa, muuten Ghouls 'n Ghosts on kuitenkin todella hyvä hypi & pompi-variaatio.
1990 KevätFor the knight the hours never crawl, since the princess is nowhere to be seen at all. Into metal the hero squeezes tight: "The forces of evil must be crushed outright!" With his lance he fattens his kill account, and using extra weapons swells the amount. But the touch of a creature most dire strips from the knight his steel attire. The second touch is the last, and so only a skeleton is left to show. Without any meat, you won't make it out to the street.
Every man in the trade will surely remember the excellent Ghosts 'n Goblins, a 16-bit version of which is also on its way from Elite. But U.S. Gold went and slipped the sequel into Santa's sack first. And indeed, Ghouls 'n Ghosts resembles its predecessor pretty closely.
Haunting the background graphics are crucified corpses and guillotines that do their work all by themselves. Genuine grim reapers rise from the ground, and so on along those familiar lines. New are the various treasure chests, which when shot give you all sorts of things, usually a transformation into a goose.
The C-64 version is an alright sort of game. The original wins on the sound side, but the end result is still playable. The worst minus comes from the knight's tendency to get stuck on the background graphics every now and then.
The Amiga version naturally has better graphics, but above all a rare phenomenon: a soundtrack that suits the game and creates the right atmosphere. The ST version refused to load, so be on your guard.
The only thing to grumble about is the game's readiness to fling the poor knight back yards at a time whenever the scythe of death grazes him; otherwise Ghouls 'n Ghosts is a really good hop & bounce variation.
