1987Ruumiit nousevat haudoistaan, demonit lepattavat taivaista ja muitakin erinomaisen kammottavia olioita on täynnänsä Ghosts'n Goblins, suuressa maailmassa hyvin suosittu kolikkopeli, josta Elite, yhtiö Commodoren takana, on vääntänyt kotikoneisiin version.
Pelissä on tarkoitus pelastaa kaunis neito pahan velhon vallasta.
Musiikki vangitsee hyvin pelin tunnelman. Se sisältää erilaisia kappaleita eri tilanteita varten. Ja mikä tärkeintä, Ghosts'n Goblinissa on mukana Se Jokin, niinsanottu "No kerran vielä" -tekijä, joka takaa ettei kiinnostus peliin sammu heti ensimmäisten tuntien aikana. Kaiken kaikkiaan erinomaisen suositeltava peli.
1987Corpses rise from their graves, demons flutter down from the skies, and Ghosts'n Goblins is chock-full of other outstandingly gruesome creatures besides - a coin-op that is very popular out in the big wide world, and which Elite, the company behind the Commodore, has wrangled into a version for home computers. And a fine job has been made of it, too. The game looks good, sounds good, is very playable and is fun into the bargain.
The aim of the game is to rescue a beautiful maiden from the clutches of an evil wizard. A jaunty-looking knight in his suit of armour, with a never-ending supply of lances, sets off to take care of business. He can jump, crouch and climb, and nail the soloists of the bogeyman opera, first with his lance and later with other weapons he finds. If the knight touches any of the lads on the other side, his armour disappears and the man carries on his way in red underpants. The next touch strips the flesh off his bones and it's time to change knights. As a game, G&G is actually a variation on the jump, shoot and climb games, but what sets it apart from the crowd is the excellent graphics, the fun touches (when the knight dies, he turns into a skeleton that rattles down onto the grass in a pile of bones) and the brilliant music. The backgrounds look extremely good, as do the characters, which on top of everything are beautifully animated.
The music captures the game's atmosphere well. It has different tunes for different situations. And most importantly, Ghosts'n Goblins has That Certain Something, the so-called "Well, just one more go" factor, which guarantees that your interest in the game won't fizzle out within the first few hours. All in all, an outstandingly recommendable game.
