Alex Kidd High-Tech World

1990 KevätJapanilaisen pikkuprinssin elämä on kovaa. Päästäkseen pelaamaan paikalliseen pelihalliin on ensin selviydyttävä maailmankaikkeuden tylsimmästä seikkailupelistä. Nimittäin Alexin on löydettävä palatsista kartan kahdeksan palasta.

Tämä peli kuuluu ilmeisesti sarjaan "orientoivat opinnot pikkuväelle". Alexin on tehtävä läksyt vastailemalla omituisiin monivalintakysymyksiin ("Mikä on salasana Space Harrierin 15 tasolla?").

1990 KevätLife is hard for a little Japanese prince. To get to play at the local arcade, he first has to survive the most boring adventure game in the universe. Namely, Alex has to find the eight pieces of a map in the palace.

This game apparently belongs to the series "introductory studies for the little ones". Alex has to do his homework by answering weird multiple-choice questions ("What is the password on level 15 of Space Harrier?"). Alex must not touch Daddy's computer. Alex must not climb on broken stairs. Alex must not stick his head in the laundry pot. If Alex is naughty, Alex dies. And the game starts over from the beginning again.

Once Alex has got the map pieced together, next up is a trek through the forest towards a technological land of bliss. Along the way Alex mows down a countless number of ninja men. But the first part is so numbing and dull that hardly any six-year-old brat will have the patience to get through it. On the other hand, the graphics are really cute and sweet, as befits the Japanese style, and in the background plays a selection of infuriatingly perky plinky-plonk tunes.

If you ask me, Alex Kidd doesn't fit into the Finnish gaming landscape. The family's little monkeys will hardly keep up, and for the older folk who understand English it's too limited.
