Silkworm
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1989 SyksyHaukunta, eikun ammuntapelien moninaiseen kirjoon on liittynyt jälleen uusi tulokas.
Silkkimato edustaa räiskintäpelien viimeisintä trendiä, jolle on luonteenomaista toiminnan hillitön kaoottisuus. Paikoitellen ruudulla käy sellainen vilske, että paatuneinkin lentäjä-ässä sotkeutuu ilotikun johtoon. Tästä huolimatta pelin vaikeus tuntui varsin sopivalta, varsinkin kun siinä on hallipeleistä tuttu mahdollisuus jatkaa peliä pistämällä kolikko koneeseen (siis leikisti).
Pientä tökkimistä lukuun ottamatta pelin toteutus on moitteeton.
1989 SyksyThe motley ranks of barking, er, shooting games have once again been joined by a newcomer. Amiga owners have reason to frolic for joy, since they needn't agonise over any lack of choice.
In Silkkimato, the vehicle on offer is a helicopter or a jeep. In two-player mode their power combines into a destructive duet. As the genre demands, the contraption is steered from left to right while you let the guns moo, er, bark. Extra weapons are earned by destroying the "goosenecks" (a kind of chopper) that appear at random and assemble themselves in mid-air. The extras are an idiosyncratic selection that includes boosted firepower, more kick for the engines and some mysterious shields. Temporary invulnerability is gained by picking up force fields that look like a swarm of gnats. At the end of each level, the entertainment is provided by a mega-class chopper or tank.
Silkkimato represents the latest trend in shoot-'em-ups, characterised by utterly unrestrained chaos in the action. At times there's such a commotion on screen that even the most hardened flying ace gets tangled up in the joystick lead. Despite this, the difficulty felt quite appropriate, especially as the game has the option, familiar from the arcades, of continuing by putting a coin in the machine (pretend, that is).
Apart from a bit of stuttering, the game's implementation is flawless. For anyone looking for quality basic blasting, Silkkimato isn't a bad buy, but for my taste it's far too unimaginative and visually dull. A couple of years ago this would still have been a big deal. How time flies.
A brief comment on the Commodore 64 version: in its own class it fully matches the Amiga version, except that the option to continue the game is missing.
