Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1989 Syksy16-bittisten parhaan moottoripyöräpelin kruunu on uhattuna kun MicroProsen kaltainen firma ryhtyy toimimaan. Entisen kuninkaan pelko on myös oikeutettua, sillä RVF Honda pesee Super Hang-Onin kädet alhaalla.
Idea on siis moottoripyöräily ja tarkoituksena päästä ajelemaan maailman huippujen kanssa kilpaa kuuluisille radoille. Pelaaja aloittaa piiritasolta kilpaillen muita rupukuskeja vastaan ja kausi pitää lopettaa ykköspallilla istuen, jos mielii saada ylennyksen seuraavaan sarjaan. Voittamalla senkin pääsee pelaaja mestaruussarjaan, missä ajajan taidot punnitaan.
Homman tekee hankalaksi se, että radalta löytyy kiusallisia öljy- ja vesilätäkköjä, jotka tekevät hallaa kolmattasataa rapakkoon kiitävän pyöräilijän ruumiilliselle olemukselle, puhumattakaan pyörän olemuksesta. Riippuen kaatumisen rajuudesta voi pyörästä hajota mittaristo, jokin vaihde tai jopa koko moottori. Lisäksi kaikki kuskit lähtevät samalta viivalta, eli koko jengillä on lähes samanlaiset pyörät, sillä poikkeuksella että ihmispelaajan pyörä jää suorilla jälkeen (hip hei, yritä siinä sitten voittaa kun toiset jättävät suorilla...).
Peli on toteutettu käytännöllisesti katsoen samalla tavalla kuin Super Hang-On, eli takaa ja ihan pikkuisen ylhäältä. Maisemat eivät ole aivan yhtä kauniita ja vaihtelevia kuin SH-O:ssa, mutta pelin nopeus korvaa grafiikan puutteet. Vaihteeksi ST:n äänistä ei ole pahaa sanottavaa, päinvastoin. Loputtoman tuntuinen digitoitu musiikkikappale soi pelin alussa ja pelin aikana moottorin jyrinä on myös digitoitu. Kiva pikku yksityiskohta on äänen muuttuminen tehopiikin paikkeilla.
Automaattinen tilanteentallennus, kolmisenkymmentä rataa, mahdollisuus usean sällin kilpailuun ja upea toteutus kaikki yhdessä tekevät RVF Hondasta todellisen makupalan, joka ei jätä ketään kylmäksi.
1989 SyksyThe crown for best motorbike game on the 16-bit machines is under threat when a company like MicroProse swings into action. The former king's fear is justified, too, since RVF Honda beats Super Hang-On hands down.
So the idea is motorcycling, and the aim is to get to race against the world's best on famous circuits. The player starts at regional level, competing against other no-hoper riders, and you have to finish the season sitting on the top step of the podium if you want promotion to the next class. By winning that one too, the player gets into the championship series, where a rider's skills are put to the test.
What makes things tricky is that the track has annoying puddles of oil and water, which do no good at all to the bodily being of a rider hurtling into the slop at two hundred and something, not to mention the being of the bike. Depending on how violent the crash is, the bike can lose its instruments, one of its gears or even the whole engine. On top of that, all the riders start from the same line, meaning the whole gang has nearly identical bikes, with the exception that the human player's bike falls behind on the straights (whoopee, just try winning when the others leave you standing on the straights...).
The game is presented in practically the same way as Super Hang-On, i.e. from behind and just a tiny bit from above. The scenery isn't quite as pretty and varied as in SH-O, but the speed of the game makes up for the shortcomings of the graphics. For a change, there's nothing bad to say about the ST's sound - quite the opposite. A seemingly endless digitised piece of music plays at the start of the game, and during the game the roar of the engine is digitised too. A nice little detail is the way the sound changes around the peak of the power band.
Automatic saving of progress, thirty-odd tracks, the option for several guys to race each other and a superb implementation all together make RVF Honda a real treat that won't leave anyone cold.
