L.E.D. Storm
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1989 SyksyMoni kauemmin kuusnepulilla pelaillut muistanee vielä pelin "Bumping Buggies", missä hyppykykyiset kuplavolkkarit murskasivat kanssakilpailijoitaan. Nimestään huolimatta Laser Enabled Destruction Storm pomppii saman kaavan mukaan,ei ole Volkswagen mutta kupla kumminkin.
L.E.D. Stormissa ajellaan läpi vertikaalisesti liusuvien reittien, murskataan kilpailijoita pomppimalla heidän kehnojen rassiensa päälle ja ravistellaan takapuskuriin tarrautuvia sammakoita. Bensaakin on kerättävä. Kaikki pakolliset öljyläikät, hyppyrit, miinat, räjähtävät rekat ja lisä-aseet sun muut ovat mukana. Tosin on irrationaalista, että auto on muka Laser Enabled Destruction-alkuinen eikä lasereista tai muusta ammuskelusta ole tietoakaan.
Grafiikka on ihan OK. Kuusnelosessa on jopa parallaksiscrollaus, joka Amigasta puuttuu. Mutkissa aktivoituva horisontaaliscrolli on Amigassa välillä hirveää nähtävää. ST-version suurempi nopeus paikkaa hiukan tätä puutetta, mutta missään versiossa ei oikein voi puhua varsinaisesta peli-elämyksestä.
LED Storm on jälleen kerran niitä pelejä, joita ei voi sen enempää haukkua kuin kehuakaan. Yleiseen Go!-tasoon verrattuna kuitenkin ihan siedettävä.
1989 SyksyMany who have played on the C-64 for a good while will probably still remember the game "Bumping Buggies", in which VW Beetles with a talent for jumping crushed their fellow competitors. Despite its name, Laser Enabled Destruction Storm bounces along to the same formula: it's not a Volkswagen, but it's a Beetle all the same.
In L.E.D. Storm you drive along vertically scrolling routes, crush competitors by bouncing on top of their lousy bangers and shake off frogs clinging to your rear bumper. You have to collect petrol too. All the obligatory oil slicks, ramps, mines, exploding trucks, extra weapons and what-have-you are included. Admittedly it's irrational that the car is supposedly Laser Enabled Destruction-something, yet there's no sign of lasers or any other shooting.
The graphics are quite OK. The C-64 even has parallax scrolling, which the Amiga lacks. The horizontal scroll that kicks in on the bends is at times a horrible sight on the Amiga. The ST version's greater speed makes up a little for this shortcoming, but in none of the versions can you really talk about an actual gaming experience.
LED Storm is once again one of those games you can neither slate nor praise very much. Compared with the general Go! standard, though, it's quite tolerable.
