1989 KevätMitenkähän Jules Vernen kuuluisaan romaaniin perustuva seikkailupeli mukailee esikuvaansa? Hmmm...lahjontaa, uhkapeliä - tämähän kuulostaa hyvältä!
Peli alkaa Lontoossa Phileas Foggin lyötyä vetoa, että hän pystyy kiertämään maapallon 80 päivässä. Tämä osuus näytetään pelaajalle kertomuksena. Sen jälkeen peli siirtyy maailmankartalle, jossa löytyy myös valikko. Tästä valikosta voi lahjoa kulloisenkin ajoneuvon kuljettajaa, jolloin matkustus nopeutuu, tai pelata korttia ja yrittää tienata rahaa. Korttipelissä pitää arvata onko seuraava kortti isompi vai pienempi kuin edellinen. Kolmantena optiona voi valita siirtymisen suoraan seuraavaan seikkailuosuuteen.
Seikkailuosuuksia on neljä. Intiassa pitää ansojen yli hyppien ja derviisejä tappaen paeta pyhästä temppelistä, jonne Fogg vahingossa on eksynyt. Japanissa pitää toimia ihmispyramidin pohjamiehenä. Tarkoitus on saada hyppivät akrobaatit olkapäille ja myös pysymään tasapainossa. Jos tässä onnistuu pääsee heidän mukanaan Amerikkaan. Siellä pitää Foggin palvelijan pelastaa isäntänsä intiaanien luota välttelemällä susia ja tanssimalla sadetanssia poppamiehen mallin mukaan. Tämän jälkeen pitää vielä paeta purjereellä putoamatta railoihin. Kun pelaaja lopulta saapuu Lontooseen, yrittää poliisi pidättää hänet pankkiryöstöstä. Se ei tietenkään saa onnistua, jotta Fogg ehtisi klubilleen ajoissa ja voittaisi vedon.
Peli on erittäin monipuolinen ja hyvin tehty. Varsinkin alkukuva on siisti ja musiikki on suorastaan mukaansatempaavaa. Pelin vaikeustasokin on sopiva, sillä alku ei ole liian vaikea ja toisaalta lopussa haastetta löytyy muutamien yöunien verran. Melko tuntemattomalta yhtiöltä peli on erinomainen saavutus ja jatkoa on odotettavissa. (Minusta Around... on kehno ja tylsä. NN)

The game begins in London, after Phileas Fogg has bet that he can travel round the globe in 80 days. This part is shown to the player as a narrative. After that the game moves on to a world map, which also has a menu. From this menu you can bribe the driver of whatever vehicle you happen to be on, which speeds up the journey, or play cards and try to earn some money. In the card game you have to guess whether the next card is higher or lower than the previous one. As a third option you can choose to move straight on to the next adventure section.
There are four adventure sections. In India you have to escape from a holy temple that Fogg has strayed into by accident, jumping over traps and killing dervishes as you go. In Japan you have to be the bottom man of a human pyramid. The idea is to get the leaping acrobats onto your shoulders and also to keep them balanced there. If you pull this off, you get to go with them to America. There Fogg's servant has to rescue his master from the Indians by dodging wolves and dancing a rain dance, copying the medicine man. After that you still have to escape on a sail-sledge without falling into the cracks in the ice. When the player finally arrives in London, the police try to arrest him for a bank robbery. Naturally that mustn't be allowed to happen, so that Fogg can get to his club in time and win the bet.
The game is extremely varied and well made. The title screen in particular is neat, and the music is downright infectious. The difficulty level is about right too, since the start isn't too hard, while at the end there's enough challenge to cost you a few nights' sleep. For a fairly unknown company the game is an excellent achievement, and there's more to be expected. (I think Around... is lousy and boring. NN)
