Speedrumbler
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1988Speedrumblerissa (peliautomaattina Rush & Crash) on terroristijoukkio, joka terrorisoi pieniä kaupunkeja. Ne siat ovat vanginneet perheesi ja sinun on taisteltava kärrylläsi tiesi eri tasojen läpi pelastaaksesi heidät. Kuten kolikkopeliversiossakin, on matkalla taloja joista saa lisävarustuksia. Rahalla pelattaessa niistä tulee pikku-ukkoja, joiden yli ajettaessa saa lisävarusteet. Käännöksessä puolestaan on ajettava talojen yli kahdesti.
Kuten lähes aina, on tämäkin arcadekäännös heikohko, kuitenkin parempi kuin monet muut. Ruudun vieritys on hiukan nykivää, mutta muuten ei suurempaa valittamista ole. Suurimmat erot ovat heikompi grafiikka, pikku-ukkoja ei esiinny ja demon puuttuminen. Äänissäkään ei ole pahemmin hurraamista.
Speedrumbler on kohtalainen peli. Itse en siitä jaksanut innostua; johtunee paatuneesta mielestäni, joka jaksaa syttyä vain todella hyvistä peleistä.
1988In Speedrumbler (known as Rush & Crash in the arcades) there's a gang of terrorists terrorising small towns. Those swine have taken your family prisoner, and you have to fight your way through the various levels in your buggy to rescue them. As in the coin-op version, along the way there are houses that give you extra equipment. When you're feeding it coins, little men come out of them, and you get the extras by running them over. In the conversion, on the other hand, you have to drive over the houses twice.
As nearly always, this arcade conversion is on the weak side too, though still better than many others. The scrolling is a bit jerky, but otherwise there isn't much to complain about. The biggest differences are the weaker graphics, the little men not turning up, and the missing demo. The sound isn't much to cheer about either.
Speedrumbler is a middling game. Personally I couldn't get worked up about it; probably down to my hardened mind, which only bothers to catch fire for really good games.
