1988Onko sinussa ainesta Rolling Thunderin agentiksi? Onko Rolling Thunderissa ainesta peliksi?
1960 - New York. Maboo aikoo vallata maailman.
1988Do you have what it takes to be a Rolling Thunder agent? Does Rolling Thunder have what it takes to be a game?
1960 - New York. Maboo intends to take over the world. A subdivision of the World Criminal Police sent female agent Leila on the job, but a man's job takes a man. Leila got caught. Agent Albatross was sent on a rescue mission.
Albatross walks along corridors shooting hooded enemies, who are colour-coded according to how much punishment they can take. The hooded men naturally shoot back, but as long as Albatross just keeps low there are no problems.
Now and then Mr Agent tanks up his gun with ammo, and before long he even finds a machine gun. Every floor has a time limit, and Agent Albatross has to be at the end of the floor before it runs down to zero.
The C-64 Rolling isn't much of a show. Not many frames have been spent on animating the Lego men, and the agent himself flounders about comically. But then, what can you expect from a man called Albatross. On the Amiga the graphics don't exactly dazzle either, but at least the walking goes better. The C-64's sound side is pretty pathetic too; on the Amiga at least the guns bang properly.
Rolling Thunder is a really middling shoot-'em-up whose best side is that the enemies at least go flying satisfyingly when they get hit. Maybe that's exactly why the Amiga version got played a lot more than the game deserves.
