Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews.
Aseena hänellä on M-16-rynnäri, jonka piipun alla on 30 mm:n kranaatinheitin. Teknisistä syistä ase on naamioitu vesipistooliksi.
Kuusnelosen grafiikka on nättiä.
1988The wicked troll king has chopped Merlin's magic wand into four pieces, and Disneyworld has fallen under the immoral foot of this depraved creature. Only one person can help now, but since Gotham City is too far away, we'll have to make do with Mickey Mouse. Mickey's task is to go through the towers of Disneyworld, rescue the pieces and take the troll king to the cleaners.
There are four towers, and a piece of the magic wand is won by nailing shut every door in a tower. This is done by succeeding in the little sub-games found behind the doors. I came across two of these: one was an upside-down Space Invaders variant and the other a simple Gaunlet variation.
Nor does Mickey have to go adventuring unarmed. The weapon of choice is an M-16 assault rifle with a 30 mm grenade launcher under the barrel. For technical reasons the gun has been disguised as a water pistol. The bigger bogeymen only yield to a sledgehammer, which sets off mitosis in its target. The result is two smaller monsters, which can then be wiped into oblivion. Contact with the creatures drains Mickey's water supply, and when the water runs out, a little foot is last glimpsed vanishing into the grave. Slaughtered monsters turn not only into water bottles but also into items that help with the mission.
The Commodore 64 graphics are pretty. Mickey and the ghost clan are easy to recognise, and Walt won't need to go spinning in the grave over the animation. An interesting version of the Mickey tune accompanies the action.
The ST's graphics and animation are of the highest quality, but there's no difference in playability between the two versions, apart from the Commodore 64 one being marginally easier.
The problem, mainly, is that FOR THE LIT-TLE ONES MICK-EY IS A FUN GAME, but an older player will soon stop giving two hoots about the fate of Disneyworld. Not a bad effort all the same.
