1988Suorraan mmuovinukkemaailmasta: urhea intiaanisuperseriffi Bravestarr!!!

Tex Hex (Paha) on kaapannut Shamenin (hyvä) ja aikoo hänen avullaan herättää jättiläishirviö Stampeden, lopullisena tarkoituksenaan vallata New Texasin planeetta yhdeksän päivän kuluessa. Kuka voisi auttaa? Niin, kuka...? Bädä bädä bädä Bravestarr, that's who!

Olen nähnyt muutaman Go!:n aikaisemman pelin enkä ole vaikuttunut. Enkä ole nytkään. Bravestarr on kurja. Mielummin leikkisin BS-nukeillakin.

Go!n tarkoitushan oli alunperin tuoda markkinoille todella korkealuokkaisia, huippuhyviä ja erittäin hyvän näköisiä pelejä. Parhaimmillaan Go!:n pelit ovat olleet nippa nappa siedettäviä, joten se suurista sanoista. U.S.Gold voisi vähin äänin lopettaa koko puljun ja keskittyä tuomaan hyviä jenkkipelejä eurooppalaisten ulottuville.

1988Straight out of the world of plastic action figures: the valiant Native American super-sheriff Bravestarr!!!

Tex Hex (Evil) has kidnapped the Shamen (good) and intends, with his help, to awaken the giant monster Stampede, his ultimate aim being to conquer the planet New Texas within nine days. Who could help? Yes, who...? Bada bada bada Bravestarr, that's who!

The game itself consists of Bravestarr walking along the streets of New Texas while huge, fast hordes of villains come at him. Shoot the crooks and they leave behind blobs that give BS more power for his gun, stop time for a moment and make other nice things like that happen. Bravestarr can also drop into buildings and ask around for tip-offs from the public on the Shamen's whereabouts. The instructions give the impression that our heroic sheriff has some sort of rocket saddle - well, it never caught my eye.

I have seen a few of Go!'s earlier games and was not impressed. Nor am I now. Bravestarr is miserable. The graphics as such are perfectly passable, but there is neither rhyme nor reason to the game. There is just a massive number of enemies, fed in on a continuous supply the whole time. Thanks to some bug, the bullets are just as happy to pass straight through as to hit. At no point does any interest in the game get a chance to develop. I'd sooner play with the BS dolls.

Go!'s whole idea, after all, was originally to bring really high-class, top-notch and extremely good-looking games to the market. At their very best Go!'s games have been just barely tolerable, so much for the big talk. U.S.Gold could quietly shut down the whole outfit and concentrate on bringing good Yank games within reach of Europeans.
