Treenari
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1987Kiinnostaisiko opiskella kotona tietokoneen avustuksella hauskalla tavalla esimerkiksi englantia, ruotsia, historiaa, biologiaa tai muita aineita ja vieläpä suomenkielisellä selostuksella? Siihen on mahdollisuus Commodoren Treenari-opetusohjelmilla. Ne antavat apua opiskelussa ja koulunkäynnissä.
Ohjelmat sopivat mainiosti esimerkiksi englannin opiskeluun, vaikka et olisi ennen lukenut englantia.
Treenari-levykkeet ovat melkein täysiä ja useimmissa kasettiversioissa tulee mukana kaksi kasettia.
Opiskeluvarmuuden takaa 12-jäseninen suomalainen opettajaryhmä, joka on laatinut ohjelmat täysin Suomen peruskoulun opetussuunnitelmien mukaisesti.
Ohjelmissa olevat tehtävät käsittävät kolme eri tehtävätyyppiä: Valintatehtävät eli kysymykset, joiden perässä on useita vastausvaihtoehtoja, täydennystehtävät, joissa sinun täytyy täydentää tietokoneen antama väite, ja muunnostehtävät, joissa tietokone kyselee esimerkiksi kielioppiin liittyviä kysymyksiä ja antaa tehtäviä.
Tehtäviä voit pelata yksin tai jonkun kaverisi kanssa. Peli koostuu 5-20:stä kysymyksestä. Kun tiedät kysymyksen oikean vastauksen, saat kolme pistettä, mutta varo vääriä vastauksia, sillä niistä menetät pisteen.
Opiskeluaineiden valikoima on laaja. Valittavanasi ovat seuraavat aineet: Englanti III-IX lk, Ruotsi VII-IX lk, Biologia III-IX lk, Maantieto III-IX lk, Matematiikka III-IX lk, Äidinkieli III-IX lk, Historia V-IX lk ja Fysiikka-Kemia VIII-IX lk.
Kaikenkaikkiaan Treenari-opetusohjelmat ovat erittäin hyviä kaikille peruskoulun oppilaille kotiopiskelua varten. Ne opettavat sinua hauskalla tavalla, opiskelu tuntuu helpolta. Treenarit ovat myös hyvää harjoitusta kokeita varten.
1987Would you be interested in studying at home with the help of a computer, in a fun way, subjects such as English, Swedish, history, biology or others - and with explanations in Finnish to boot? You can, with Commodore's Treenari educational programs. They give you a hand with your studies and your schoolwork.
The programs are excellently suited to studying English, for example, even if you've never studied English before.
The Treenari disks are almost full, and most of the cassette versions come with two cassettes.
The soundness of your studying is guaranteed by a 12-member team of Finnish teachers, who have drawn up the programs entirely in line with the Finnish comprehensive school curricula.
The exercises in the programs come in three different types: multiple-choice exercises, i.e. questions followed by several alternative answers; completion exercises, in which you have to complete a statement given by the computer; and transformation exercises, in which the computer asks you questions about grammar, for example, and sets you tasks.
You can play the exercises on your own or with a friend. A game consists of 5-20 questions. When you know the right answer to a question you get three points, but watch out for wrong answers, because they cost you a point.
The range of subjects is wide. You can choose from the following subjects: English grades 3-9, Swedish grades 7-9, Biology grades 3-9, Geography grades 3-9, Mathematics grades 3-9, Mother Tongue grades 3-9, History grades 5-9 and Physics-Chemistry grades 8-9.
All in all, the Treenari educational programs are very good for home study for all comprehensive school pupils. They teach you in a fun way, and studying feels easy. The Treenaris are also good practice for exams.
