Spy vs. Spy
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews.
1987The agents from the Mad Magazine comic strips, black and white, have now lent wings to the thoughts of game programmers too. The result is the Spy vs. Spy game, in which two agents have broken into a foreign country's embassy at the same time. The winner is the one who first makes it to the airport and back to their home country.
Before a player can go to the airport, they have to find the briefcase and collect into it the passport, money, secret documents and a key. Naturally each player tries to stop the other from leaving, because only one plane is departing.
In the duels the agents hit each other with clubs. If either player takes enough hits, they die, but can carry on with the game after a while.
Very good music plays in the background, and apart from that there are hardly any other sounds. There can be one or two players. In a one-player game the computer controls the other agent. It was hard to find any bad sides to the game. It certainly interested this tester a great deal, and it didn't start to get boring right away. The manual could do with a Finnish translation, since you need it because of the game's scope and difficulty.
