Sabre Wulf
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

Arvokkain on kuitenkin pieni punainen patsas, jonka löydyttyä saa yhden lisäelämän. Graafinen toteutus on Sabre Wulfissa kiistattomasti hieno.
Labyrinttiseikkailuista Sabre Wulf on mielestäni aivan kärjessä.
1987In this jungle maze your task is to find the four lost pieces of an amulet and then find your way out of the jungle. The game has over 250 screens, so this is another game you won't be finishing any time soon.
The player controls a brave jungle adventurer with either the keyboard or a joystick. The man moves in four directions, following the paths. When you reach the edge of the screen you move on to the next one, and so on. Just strolling around the leafy labyrinth would be nice, but unfortunately you don't get off that easily.
All sorts of jungle creatures appear on the paths, and they can make short work of one of your adventurer's lives (of which there are four to begin with). Monkeys, hippos, natives, snakes, spiders and many other creatures come popping up in front of you, and the player has to fight to get anywhere.
For this you can use a sword, with which the jungle man nimbly hacks the way clear. The critters vanish with a pop, but soon more of them turn up again.
Every now and then orchids of different colours burst into bloom near you. Each one affects the player in its own way. One paralyses you for a little while, while another makes you invulnerable for a moment. Then you can scurry past all the beasts.
Along the way you can also collect plenty of treasures, which earn you points. Rings, money bags and so on turn up on your path every so often. The most valuable, however, is a small red statue, which gives you an extra life when you find it. The graphics in Sabre Wulf are undeniably fine. Both the plant-lined paths and the various creatures are drawn clearly and colourfully.
Play Sabre Wulf for a long time and mild boredom may start to threaten, but thanks to its excellent playability, probably not too soon.
Among labyrinth adventures, Sabre Wulf is in my opinion right up at the top.
