Lands of Havoc
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1987Pelissä on ideana juosta tietyssä järjestyksessä paikasta toiseen kaikenmoisten ötököiden täyttämässä maailmassa. Tavoitteena on syöstä vallasta pahojen velhojen joukkio, joka pitää majaansa jossakin maan alla. Pelissä on 1200 erilaista ruudullista, mikä on sinänsä käsittämätöntä, sillä peliin kyllästyy perin pohjin jo siinä vaiheessa, kun ohjelma ilmoittaa, että kymmenen prosenttia seikkailusta on ratkaistu.
Ohjelma toimii sekä mustavalko- että värimonitorilla varustetuissa Atareissa. Mustavalkomonitorissa ei kuitenkaan tosin käytetä tarkinta mahdollista erottelukykyä, vaan pelaajan on tyytyminen värigrafiikan tarkkuuteen. Tämä on sinänsä outoa, sillä muistiin olisi toki mahtunut vaikka kymmenen tämän kokoista ohjelmaa, eli mustavalkomonitoria varten olisi voitu kirjoittaa vaikka aivan oma ohjelma.
1987The idea of the game is to run from place to place, in a set order, through a world crawling with all manner of creepy-crawlies. The goal is to topple a gang of evil wizards who hole up somewhere underground. The game has 1200 different screenfuls, which is baffling in itself, since you're thoroughly sick of the game by the time the program announces that ten per cent of the adventure has been solved.
The program runs on Ataris fitted with either a monochrome or a colour monitor. On the monochrome monitor, however, it doesn't use the highest resolution available; the player has to make do with the resolution of the colour graphics. This is odd in itself, since the memory could easily have held ten programs this size, meaning a whole separate program could perfectly well have been written for the monochrome monitor.
