Koronis Rift

Koronis Rift

1987Koronis Rift on hyvin erikoinen toimintapeli. Tarkoituksena on tutkia Koronis-planeetan syviä laaksoja, joista löytyy satojatuhansia vuosia vanhan kulttuurin aluksia ja laitteita. Etsintää on vaikeuttamassa ufoja, joiden tuhoaminen on pakollista ennen laakson laitteiden tutkimista. Laaksoja on 20.

Pelin lopullinen kohde on ufojen tukikohta viimeisessä laaksossa.

Grafiikka on miellyttävää, mitään vikoja ei löytynyt. Musiikkia ei ole. Ainoa harmittava asia on, että kasettiasemaa käytettäessä jokainen laakso on ladattava kasetilla. Kun sitten sattuu kuolemaan, on kasetti kelattava takaisin oikeaan kohtaan (jota yleensä ei löydä).

Mielestäni peli on verrattain hyvä. Mahdollisuuksia on paljon. Laajuuden tajuaa jos sattuu aukaisemaan paksuhkon ohjepaperin.

1987Koronis Rift is a very unusual action game. The aim is to explore the deep valleys of the planet Koronis, where you'll find ships and equipment left by a civilisation hundreds of thousands of years old. Making the search harder are UFOs, which have to be destroyed before you can examine a valley's equipment. There are 20 valleys.

Once you've explored a valley enough, you have to go back to the mothership. There a special robot analyses the items you've found and tells you what they're worth. You can trade the items for cold hard cash or use them yourself. The game's ultimate target is the UFOs' base in the last valley.

The graphics are pleasant; no flaws turned up. There's no music. The only annoying thing is that when you're using a cassette drive, every valley has to be loaded from tape. Then when you happen to die, you have to rewind the tape back to the right spot (which you usually can't find).

In my opinion the game is comparatively good. There are lots of possibilities. You grasp the scale of it if you happen to open the rather thick instruction booklet.
