Desert Fox
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1987Vaihteeksi yritys yhdistää strategia- ja toimintapeli. Valitettavasti vain kumpiakin on tehty erikseen huomattavasti parempia, eikä tämä ristisiitos pahemmin innosta.
Pelissä on tarkoituksena käydä taisteluun itseään Erwin Rommelia vastaan Pohjois-Afrikan kuumilla hiekka-aavikoilla.
Aluksi tulostuu kartta Afrikan pohjoisrannikosta Tobrukista itään.
Siinä näkyy kolmiulotteisena tilanteesta riippuen harvinaisen huonosti kätkettyjä miinoja, vihollisen panssarivaunu, hyökkäyksen kohteena oleva saattue, sola, jossa on väijytys tai panssarivaunun kimppuun hyökkääviä stukia. Mikäli Rommel saa pelaajan panssarivaunun kiinni, on seurauksena kaksintaistelu hurmeiseen loppuun asti.
Tästä ohjelmasta on harvinaisen vaikea keksiä positiivista sanottavaa. Grafiikka on kehnoa, äänistä voi tuskin edes puhua ja se kiinnostavuus...
1987For a change, here's an attempt to combine a strategy game and an action game. Unfortunately, considerably better examples of both have been made separately, and this crossbreed doesn't exactly set the pulse racing.
The aim of the game is to go into battle against none other than Erwin Rommel himself on the hot sand deserts of North Africa.
First up, a map is displayed of the North African coast from Tobruk eastwards. Here there are Allied bases and towns. Also shown are the positions of both the player's tank and Rommel's.
The bases are under attack, and only the intervention of the player's tank can extend the time a base is able to hold out. This has been done by giving the player a view through the tank's vision slit. Depending on the situation, it shows in 3D some remarkably badly hidden mines, an enemy tank, a convoy under attack, a pass with an ambush waiting in it, or Stukas going for the tank. If Rommel catches up with the player's tank, the result is a duel to the bloody end.
It is remarkably hard to come up with anything positive to say about this program. The graphics are poor, the sound is hardly even worth talking about, and as for how interesting it is...
