Crazy Comets

Peliin on jopa lisätty pieni jännitysmomentti.

Kappaleiden koko taas on suhteessa nopeuteen, joten nopeus kasvaa koon myötä.

Pelissä on grafiikkaa käytetty heikonlaisesti.

1987Destruction games of one kind or another have been the idea behind almost all the old game classics. Towards the end of '84, however, production of these "destroy-it" games dried up, and the reason was obviously that people had grown sick of shooting games. Now "Crazy Comets" is trying to win over buyers by offering a better-than-average shoot-'em-up.

Like other shooting games, the idea is perfectly clear: all the heavenly bodies in the universe have gone mad, and the universe is turning into pure energy. The player has to destroy all the heavenly bodies so that major damage can be avoided.

A small element of suspense has even been added to the game. Every now and then rescue capsules come at you out of space, and you score points by collecting them (not by shooting them). Otherwise you just have to shoot everything that moves, of which there are five different kinds in all.

The game is divided into levels that get harder as the game goes on. After each level the heavenly bodies grow bigger faster. The size of the bodies, in turn, is tied to their speed, so the speed goes up along with the size. When it hits its peak, the bodies are dead certain to crash into the player's ship.

The graphics in the game have been put to rather feeble use. There are colours, sure, a custom font and lots of flickering "crazies" - mad heavenly bodies. The only real bright spot was the neat background, where the stars in the sky spin round and come rushing towards you.

The music is that well-known, infectious sound-chip racket that practically forces you to play another game.
