Battle Through Time

1987Anirogin Battle Through Timessä ohjataan erikoisvalmisteista autoa, joka on varustettu asein. Pelissä on tehtävänä ampua kaikkea liikkuvaa.

Peli alkaa ensimmäisesta maailmansodasta, jossa vastuksena on rätiseviä kaksitasolentokoneita. Selvitettyään kaksitasokoneiden aiheuttaman vastuksen pelaaja siirtyy ajassa eteenpäin toiseen maailmansotaan, jossa kaksitasokoneet vaihtuvat 1940-luvun taistelukoneisiin. 1940-luvun lentokoneet pudottavat pommiryöppyjä yrittäen estää etenemistä Korean sotaan.

Korean sodassa korealaiset pommittajat uhkaavat pelaajan tulevaisuutta. Väisteltyään tai tuhottuaan pommittajat pelaaja siirtyy jälleen ajassa eteenpäin, tosin ei kovin pitkää harppausta tällä kertaa: Vietnamin sotaan.

Vietnamin sodan helikopterit ovat valmiita ampumaan pelaajan minä hetkenä hyvänsä. Kun on välttänyt helikopterin uhkan siirrytään kolmanteen maailmansotaan, jossa erilaiset satelliitit uhkaavat pelaajaa. Selvitettyään satelliittien uhkan koko maailma räjähtää ja pelaajaa vastassa on erilaisia sotamuunnoksia. Niiden jälkeen tulee pelaajaa vastaan erilaisia alkukantaisia hirviöitä. Alkukantaisten hirviöiden jakson lopussa on tyrannosaurus Rex. Tästä pelin testaaja ei enää selvinnytkään.

Battle Through Time kuuluu sarjaan moonbuggypelit. Pelin grafiikka on hieman tavallista moonbuggytasoa parempaa. Pelin äänet ovat perustasoa. Tehosteina on pamahduksia ja muita rysähdyksiä. Pelin kiinnostavuus häipyy yhdessä illassa, koska peliä voi jatkaa samasta tilanteesta, johon jäi. Kokonaisuutena peli on huono ostos sinänsä, koska siihen kyllästyy nopeasti.

1987In Anirog's Battle Through Time you drive a specially built car fitted with weapons. Your task in the game is to shoot everything that moves.

The game begins in the First World War, where the opposition consists of rattling biplanes. Having dealt with the resistance put up by the biplanes, the player moves forward in time to the Second World War, where the biplanes give way to 1940s fighter planes. The 1940s aircraft drop showers of bombs, trying to stop you from advancing to the Korean War.

In the Korean War, Korean bombers threaten the player's future. After dodging or destroying the bombers, the player once again moves forward in time, though not by a very long leap this time: to the Vietnam War.

The helicopters of the Vietnam War are ready to shoot the player at any moment. Once you have avoided the helicopter threat, you move on to the Third World War, where various satellites threaten the player. Once the satellite threat has been dealt with, the whole world explodes and the player faces assorted war mutations. After them, various primeval monsters come at the player. At the end of the primeval monster stage there is a Tyrannosaurus rex. The game's tester never made it past this one.

Battle Through Time belongs to the moonbuggy game category. Its graphics are slightly better than the usual moonbuggy standard. The sound is basic. The effects consist of bangs and other crashes. The game's interest evaporates in a single evening, because you can carry on from the same point where you left off. As a whole the game is a poor buy in itself, since you soon get bored with it.
