Back to the Future
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1987Back to the Future on samannimisen elokuvan perusteella tehty peli.
Back to the Futuren grafiikka ei kuulu kärkeen.
Musiikki soi hieman nuotin vierestä ja väärällä nopeudella (olen onnellinen Back to the Future soundtrack -levyn omistaja). Grafiikka ei ole maata järisyttävää. Kokonaisuutena peli on kuitenkin keskiarvoa parempi.
1987Back to the Future is a game based on the film of the same name. In the film Marty (the film's hero) slips 30 years back into the past in an atomic-powered De Lorean car. Things get tricky when he accidentally messes up his parents' first meeting. Marty now has to get Lorraine (his mother) and George (his father) to fall in love, so that in the future they will be able to make Marty possible.
The idea of the game is to get George and Lorraine to fall in love with each other by keeping them together as often as possible. This is done with various items that can be found around the playing area. If and when the player manages to play the game through to the end, Marty can go back to the future.
You can see how the game is going from two photographs. The more clearly these pictures show, the further along the relationship between Lorraine and George is. If both photos fade away completely to nothing, the game is over.
Back to the Future's graphics are not among the best. There has evidently been an attempt to put plenty of variety into them, but the colour choices are not good. Naturally not all the sprites showed up, since sometimes Marty "vanished into thin air" and reappeared somewhere else on the screen. Then again, nearly every game suffers from this disease.
I liked the film. The game was a smallish disappointment. The music plays slightly off-key and at the wrong speed (I'm the happy owner of the Back to the Future soundtrack album). The graphics are not earth-shattering. All in all, though, the game is better than average.
