Return of the Jedi
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1989 KevätJa niin on Domarkin Tähtien Sota -trilogia edennyt viimeiseen osaansa eli Return of the Jediin.
Kuusnelosen visuaalinen puoli on toteutettu tosi lepsusti. Ewokit näyttävät pahoinvoivilta hammaspeikoilta ja Millenium Falcon on tehty suurennetuilla spriteillä, puhumattakaan kärpäsen näköisistä TIE-hävittäjistä. Toimiipa se silti paremmin kuin edeltäjiensä vektorigrafiikka.
ST-grafiikka on kertaluokkaa parempaa, ja viisto scrollaus on kone huomioonottaen totetettu todella hyvin. Samplet Jedin paluusta piristävät peliä eikä musiikkikaan ole hassumpaa.
Return of the Jedi on hyvä elokuva, mutta peli on standarditasoinen lisenssiväännös.
1989 KevätAnd so Domark's Star Wars trilogy has reached its final part, namely Return of the Jedi. The Rebel Alliance must destroy the new Death Star before the Empire deletes the entire rebel alliance, leaving behind nothing but teeth and the gnashing of weeping.
Like its predecessor games, Return of the Jedi consists of numerous sections tied to the film. This time there are no vector graphics, just perfectly ordinary sprite graphics. First Luke Skywalker rides his speeder bike through a fairly dense forest with the Empire on his tail. The pursuers can be shaken off by riding through Ewok traps and between tree trunks, or by coolly wedging the space Teittinens into the side of a tree.
Then you play Chewbacca at the controls of a Walker, dodging tree trunks, from which situation the game surprisingly pops over to the Millenium Falcon battling its way through TIE fighters. For the finale the Millenium Falcon flies through the Death Star and whacks the main reactor, bringing about the destruction of the Death Star, much to the Empire's chagrin.
Jeddie Come Home loses to its predecessors hands down. Every section is just a diagonally scrolling dodge-and-shoot game, and the variety it needs never gets a chance to develop. The visual side of the Commodore 64 version has been done really sloppily. The Ewoks look like queasy tooth trolls and the Millenium Falcon is made of enlarged sprites, not to mention the fly-like TIE fighters. Still, it works better than its predecessors' vector graphics.
The ST graphics are an order of magnitude better, and the diagonal scrolling has been done really well considering the machine. Samples from Return of the Jedi liven up the game, and the music isn't half bad either.
Return of the Jedi is a good film, but the game is a standard-issue licence knock-off. If only they had at least kept the vector graphics, but of course it's nice that all the Star Warses have finally been converted. The only ones worth buying are the 16-bit versions of the first two, especially the forever-lovely Star Wars.
