Turbo Outrun
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

Grafiikka on edeltäjäänsä huomattavasti parempaa varsinkin kuusnelosversiossa, johon on muutenkin tungettu kiitettävästi erilaista tilpehööriä.
1990 KevätA gloomy games dealer stares into the till. "The child needs an operation, and there's only ten pennies." But great is the power of faith: in the morning there's a big boxful of Turbo Outruns on the shop doorstep, and after Christmas the child is flown to surgery by private Concorde.
The massive megahit Outrun is one of the most successful games of all time, and for no reason whatsoever. So a slightly different worm was threaded onto the same hook, and business was brisk.
Nearly everyone knows the idea of Outrun, and for the benefit of that one person, let it be told that the route must be completed within a time limit. The "Turbo" in Turbo Outrun comes, of course, from the turbo added to the Testarossa, which you can use until the engine overheats. Other gameplay differences from the previous Outrun are the absence of forks in the road, oil slicks on the track, puddles, bumps, and the chance of extra equipment after a successful rally.
This time both the C-64 and the 16-bit versions are professional work. The graphics are considerably better than the predecessor's, especially in the C-64 version, which has also been commendably crammed with all sorts of bits and bobs. Gameplay-wise, the obstacles on the road add a certain amount of tension, and all in all the game wrestles a couple of weight classes above its predecessor. In the ST and Amiga versions the difference isn't all that significant, but C-64 owners should consider buying it.
Outrun is still Outrun however you dress it up, for better or for worse.
