Chase HQ
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1990 KevätAnd so game genres evolve, one tiny notch at a time. It took a couple of years to add the option of road violence to the typical Outrun format. In Chase HQ the black car is driven by cops who, within a time limit, have to catch up with the criminals' car and then shove it off the road. So much for originality.
Despite the lack of it, the Amiga Chase is actually excellent. Clear samples, good graphics and splendid playability keep sucking you back in front of the screen. Then again, either I'm hellishly bad or the time limit is far too tight, but without the Continue option I wouldn't even have seen the criminals' car. The car is teeny-tiny compared with the coin-op and the roadside graphics don't always match the speed, but I didn't find these bothersome.
Sadly, the C-64 version is another story altogether. Judging by the general slowness and the single-colour graphics, the game has apparently been sucked straight out of the Spectrum. The cars are at least coloured, in their own strange way, but the three-dimensional effect never materialises, and neither does the playability. A plus, though, for the fact that in principle all of big sister's features are in there all the same.
Considering Ocean's other C-64 output, Chase-64 is an incomprehensible blunder, but Amiga owners should enjoy this good example of its genre.
