Arnheim
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

CCS:n Arnheim - The 'Market Garden' Operation on kuitenkin aivan jotain muuta.
Iästään huolimatta (ensimmäinen versio tehty jo 1985) Arnheim on ihan kelpo simulaatio ensimmäistä strategiapeliään etsivälle. Muut säästäkööt rahansa vaikkapa UMS II:een. Pelin parhaana plussana on mahdollisuus kolmen pelaajan peliin (Saksalaiset vs. Englanti ja U.S.A.).
1989 SyksyStrategy games are traditionally detailed but loooong games, and to get through one you have to set aside at least a weekend kitted out with a public holiday, plus three thermoses of coffee. CCS's Arnheim - The 'Market Garden' Operation, however, is something else entirely. Even at its longest the game is over in about six hours, and the short scenarios take under an hour. That sort of thing won't faze an old strategist much, but for anyone who wants to try out strategy games in double-quick time, Arnheim is just the thing.
The speed naturally also means doing without superfluous detail. Supply is unheard of, and so, by and large, is air support. Even the anti-aircraft batteries are there mainly for the ground-combat strength of their gunners... The program concentrates on shuffling troops around, while at least giving the artillery a chance to help the other side with its foxhole-digging.
Arnheim simulations are dull in that they concentrate heavily on capturing the bridges over the Rhine and its tributaries. In practice, of course, the whole offensive was fought and lost precisely because of those bridges, but as a game the theme easily starts repeating itself. There is not much room left for dashing strategies of your own.
Despite its age (the first version was made back in 1985) Arnheim is a perfectly decent simulation for someone looking for their first strategy game. Everyone else can save their money for, say, UMS II. The game's best plus point is the option of a three-player game (Germans vs. England and the U.S.A.).
