Apache Strike
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1989 SyksyVuosi on 1997.
1989 SyksyThe year is 1997. World peace is in danger, and only a brave pilot in an Apache AR-64 helicopter can save the world by destroying the defence computers of forty cities. The cities have such plucked-out-of-thin-air names as "Novgorod" and "Moscow".
The Apache flies through a maze made of skyscrapers, battling enemy aircraft and tanks. The view is straight from the cockpit, and a radar screen helps with the flying. The Apache can fly fast, can fly slow and can even hover in place. For armament there are missiles and an autocannon.
If Apache Walkout still sounds interesting at this point, the blow lands all the harder once you actually play the game. The simple vector skyscrapers move quite nicely as such, but the pathetic splotches bear no resemblance to tanks or aircraft. Apache Strike is no simulator at all, just a fairly straightforward maze game seasoned with shooting. There is roughly as much suspense and feverish action as in the weekend devotional "Sana viikonvaihteeksi".
The idea of the game is good as such, commie-phobia aside, and by putting more into the execution and into further ideas AS might even have been a good game. As it is, the result falls well short of Activision's usual standard.
