Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1989 KevätMonta lajia sisältäviä urheilupelejä on tehty lukemattomia. Joskus juolahtaa mieleen, että lienevätkö peliyhtiöiden tietokoneet ylikuumenneet liiasta pelaamisesta, kun urheilupelien lajiyhdistelmät ovat niin outoja.
Outoja tai ei, Supersportsin viisi lajia ovat silti ihan kiva kokonaisuus, vaikkei mitään järkevää yhteistä nimittäjää edes derivoinnin kautta löydykään. Ensimmäisenä lajina on maaliammunnat, jossa sunnuntairambo räiskii haulikolla enemmän ja vähemmän liikkuvia maalitauluja. Välillä lentelevistä maaleista saa myös hyvin pisteitä. Toisena lajina on surmanhyppy tornista altaaseen. Pisteitä saa rohkeudesta eli kuinka korkealta hyppää, tyylistä eli suoritetuista tempuista ja hypyn suoruudesta eli pystyykö pitämään varjonsa altaan kohdalla. Epäonnistuneet yrittäjät päätyvät K-kaupan lihatiskille.
Seuraavana lajina on laatanmurskaus, jossa aikarajan sisällä pitää iskeä sumopainijoiden pitelemiä laattoja mahdollisimman monta mahdollisimman vaikeilla liikkeillä kiinalaisiksi palapeleiksi. Sitten alkaakin jalkajousella ampuminen eri etäisyyksillä oleviin tauluihin. Tämä on pelin surkein laji, sillä jousi pitää virittää joystickia rämpyttämällä ja aikarajan vuoksi ei yleensä ehdi ampua kaikkia nuolia.
Viimeisenä lajina on vedenalainen esterata, jossa sukelletaan radan läpi mahdollisimman nopeasti. Matkalla ei saa törmätä esteisiin eikä mereneläviin, mutta bonuksia saa keräämällä kultakolikoita ja uimalla renkaiden läpi. Välillä pitää käydä haukkaamassa lisää happea, jolloin vaarana on hullu vesiskootteristi.
Supersports on piristävää vaihtelua pelimaailman kloonien sekaan. Pelattavuus on mainio ja peliä koko ajan selostava kommentaattori yrittää olla jopa hauska. Jos koomista urheilupeliä etsii, niin tässä se on.
1989 KevätCountless sports games with lots of events have been made. Sometimes it crosses your mind whether the software houses' computers might have overheated from too much gaming, given how odd the event combinations in sports games are.
Odd or not, Supersports' five events still make quite a nice package, even if you can't find any sensible common denominator for them even by differentiating. The first event is target shooting, in which a Sunday Rambo blasts away with a shotgun at targets that move more or less. The targets that fly past now and then are also good for plenty of points. The second event is a death dive from a tower into a pool. Points are awarded for courage, i.e. how high you jump from, for style, i.e. the tricks performed, and for the straightness of the dive, i.e. whether you can keep your shadow over the pool. Failed contestants end up on the meat counter of a K-kauppa grocery.
The next event is slab smashing, in which, within a time limit, you have to strike as many of the slabs held up by sumo wrestlers as possible, with the most difficult moves possible, into Chinese puzzles. Then comes crossbow shooting at targets at different distances. This is the game's most miserable event, since the bow has to be drawn by waggling the joystick, and because of the time limit you usually don't get to shoot all your bolts.
The last event is an underwater obstacle course, where you dive through the course as fast as possible. On the way you mustn't bump into obstacles or sea creatures, but you get bonuses by collecting gold coins and swimming through rings. Every now and then you have to go up for a gulp of oxygen, and then the danger is a crazy jet-skier.
Supersports is a refreshing change amid the clones of the games world. The playability is excellent, and the commentator who narrates the game the whole time even tries to be funny. If you're looking for a comic sports game, here it is.
