Superman - Man of Steel
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

Tynesoftin luomus jakautuu kuuteen osaan. Käytössä on vaihteleva määrä Teräsmieskykyjä aina lentotaitoa, lämpökatsetta, superpuhallusta ja röntgennäköä myöten. Teräsmies polttaa parademoneita, kuljettaa avaruussukkulan läpi meteorilauman, taistelee robotteja vastaan, kuljettaa satelliitin läpi meteorien, tuhoaa Luthorin linnakkeen ja taistelee robotteja vastaan.
Kuusnelosversion helppous silti taannee pienempien teräsmiesten suosion.
1989 KevätIt must honestly be admitted that before Byrne revamped Superman, the comic was dreadful reading. The revamp took hold for a while, but the old faults have once again crawled back into Supes under the most peculiar pretexts, and the comic is dreadful reading once more. Well, even if the Boy Scout from Krypton isn't great comics, that doesn't stop anyone making a good game out of old S-chest.
Tynesoft's creation is divided into six parts. You get a varying number of Superman powers to use, all the way to flight, heat vision, super-breath and X-ray vision. Superman burns parademons, escorts a space shuttle through a meteor swarm, fights robots, escorts a satellite through meteors, destroys Luthor's fortress and fights robots. Each mission breaks off into a comic-book-style interlude (read: the tape deck whirs into action every little while).
Sure, you can recognise Superman even in the C-64 graphics, but it's hard to think of anything else worth mentioning. At least the Man of Steel's theme from the film "Superman" rings out recognisably. The game's various parts, simple as they are, are quite playable. The trouble is that they've been put together out of a couple of different games by swapping the sprites. On the Amiga the graphics are naturally considerably better, but the game itself is considerably harder than the C-64 version and so goes over the heads of the Supes-fan age group.
Sure, Superman is tolerable enough, but sometimes you'd like to see games other than "tolerable" ones too. Still, the ease of the C-64 version should guarantee its popularity with the smaller supermen.
