Skychase
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1989 KevätImageworks on Mirrorsoftin (Defender Of The Crown, Sinbad, Three Stooges ja monia muita) perustama uusi itsenäinen ohjelmatalo. Skychase on Imageworksin ensimmäinen yritys saavuttaa mainetta ja kunniaa pelimaailmassa. Päinvastoin kuin useimmat uudet ohjelmatalot, Imageworks aloittaa suhteellisen omaperäisellä pelillä. Skychasen perusidea on peräisin ACE 2:sta ja Top Gunista, joista kumpikaan ei täyttänyt niihin asetettuja odotuksia.
Ideana on nykyaikainen kaksintaistelu ilmassa.
1989 KevätImageworks is a new independent software house founded by Mirrorsoft (Defender Of The Crown, Sinbad, Three Stooges and many others). Skychase is Imageworks' first attempt to win fame and glory in the gaming world. Unlike most new software houses, Imageworks is starting out with a relatively original game. Skychase's basic idea comes from ACE 2 and Top Gun, neither of which lived up to the expectations placed on them.
The idea is a modern-day duel in the air. There is a choice of many different aircraft models, from a MiG to a paper aeroplane. The players can influence plenty of other things too, for example the size of the play area, the pilots' tolerance to centrifugal force, the armament and whatever else. The screen is split into two equal halves, and both pilots have the usual fuel, altitude, speed and thrust gauges on their instrument panels. In addition, each of them has a score counter, a gauge showing the centrifugal force and gauges showing the number of weapons. In the middle of the screen is a kind of radar, which shows the position and heading of both planes.
If there aren't two people around who are interested in aerial combat, you can always play against the computer. Which, mind you, is not very advisable, since the computer is extremely skilful and boredom soon lays its numbing hand on the player's shoulder. What saves Skychase is precisely its two-player playability. It is much more glamorous to play against a human than against a machine, and it's usually a lot easier too. As a human-versus-human game Skychase does a satisfactory job; otherwise it doesn't amaze much.
