Saboteur II

1988Aikanaan nousi Suomessakin myyntihitiksi Saboteur I, jossa piti murtautua keskusvalvomoon. Nyt pelaaja joutuu ninjan kauniin siskon rooliin, joka lähtee pelastamaan kyseiseen rakennukseen jääneen haavoittuneen veljensä. Samalla pitäisi etsiä moneen osaan jaettu tietokonenauha, joka sisältää tärkeitä tietoja, jotka kontrolloivat diktaattorin ohjuksia.

Pelin alussa voi valita haluamansa vaikeustason. Vaikeutta säätelee mm. tietokonenauhan palojen määrä, useammat tehtävät ja aikarajoitus. Näin on päästy eroon Saboteur I:sen liiallisesta helppoudesta.

Saboteur II on paljon parantunut sitten ensimmäisen version.

1988In its day Saboteur I, in which you had to break into a central control room, became a sales hit in Finland too. Now the player takes on the role of the ninja's beautiful sister, who sets out to rescue her wounded brother, left behind in that very building. At the same time you're supposed to find a computer tape split into many pieces, which holds important data controlling the dictator's missiles.

At the start of the game you can pick the difficulty level you want. The difficulty is governed by, among other things, the number of pieces of computer tape, more tasks and a time limit. That does away with the excessive easiness of Saboteur I.

To get into the dictator's building you first have to fly a hang glider, let go at the right moment and drop into the building. While searching for items around the building you have to avoid guards, pumas and deadly bats. Then again, killing them earns you bonus points. Once you've got everything you need together, you have to find a motorbike and escape.

Saboteur II has improved a lot since the first version. The whole building complex contains over 700 screens and the graphics are clear. The sound effects are limited to just a few punches; there's no music at all.

You can play the game either as a fighting-and-bashing game or as a full-blooded adventure game. Whichever of these two game types you prefer, Saboteur II offers a good way to pass the time as the autumn evenings draw in.
