Two on Two
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. 1987Two on Twossa pelataan pelin nimen mukaisesti koripalloa kaksimiehisin joukkuein. Pelissä voi valita useita eri peliyhdistelmiä, mm. kahdestaan tai yksin tietokonetta vastaan.
Yksinpelissä tietokone ohjaa toista omaa miestäsi. Tästä on apua sikäli, että kun olet syöttänyt tietokoneohjatulle pelaajallesi, voit rauhassa itse hakea vapaata paikkaa. Löydettyäsi hyvän aseman painat nappia ja kaveri heittää pallon sinulle.
Pelin ohjevihkosessa on paljon hyödyllistä tietoa, mm. lista pelaajista, joista voit kumppanisi valita. Siinä on myös miesten koriinheitto-prosentit kertova taulukko.
Peliin sisältyy harjoittelumahdollisuus niille, jotka eivät tunne kaikkia koripallon hienouksia jo ennestään.
Two on Twossa on myös sarjapelisysteemi, joten voit halutessasi pistää pystyyn oikein turnauksen.
Musiikki alussa ja tehosteäänet pelin aikana ovat yleisön hurraamisen lisäksi ainoat äänet, mutta mitäpä tässä pelissä marssimusiikilla tekisikään? Grafiikka on siistiä, ainoastaan miesten loikkiminen kentälle voi hiukan huvittaa, mutta siihen tottuu.
Ilmeisesti Two on Two on paras tällä hetkellä markkinoilla olevista koripallopeleistä.
1987In Two on Two, just as the game's name says, you play basketball in two-man teams. You can choose from several different game combinations, e.g. two of you together or on your own against the computer.
In the one-player game the computer controls the other man on your team. This helps in that once you've passed to your computer-controlled player, you can go and look for an open spot in peace. Once you've found a good position, you press the button and your teammate throws the ball to you.
The game's instruction booklet has lots of useful information, e.g. a list of the players you can pick your partner from. It also has a table giving the players' shooting percentages.
The game includes a practice option for those who don't already know all the finer points of basketball.
Two on Two also has a league system, so if you like you can set up a proper tournament.
Apart from the crowd cheering, the music at the start and the sound effects during the game are the only sounds, but then what would you even do with marching music in this game? The graphics are neat; only the way the men hop onto the court may be slightly comical, but you get used to it.
Two on Two is apparently the best of the basketball games currently on the market.
