Kokoaminen tapahtuu paloista kuten sähköautoradassa (vrt. nimi!). Valittavana on erilaisia kaarteita, suoria, risteyksiä, kavennuksia jne.
Ajaminen on erittäin hyvin toteutettu.
1987This slot-car racing game is one of the best of its kind in terms of execution and playability. There are one- and two-player options and numerous different race tracks to choose from.
If none of the ready-made tracks appeals, you can design your own track from scratch. It's put together from pieces, just like an electric slot-car set (cf. the name!). You can choose from various bends, straights, crossings, narrow sections etc. The only difficulty in building may come at the final stage, joining the pieces up, when the little devils just won't fit together. Then it's simply a case of taking the previous piece out and putting a different one in its place, in the hope of getting the track 'finished' that way...
You can save your own tracks to disk, which is a fine thing. Building a track takes long enough, though, that you can't be bothered to go through it all over again every time.
The driving is extremely well done. The cars behave quite consistently, and a little nudge doesn't immediately lead to a horrendous explosion. If the difference in speed between the cars is large when they collide, the one that ran into the back of the other is destroyed and that's the end of the race for that driver. So there are no 'miraculous recoveries' in the game. This in turn calls for restrained and sensible driving from the players, and makes the game interesting.
The sound is nothing much, but who needs it... Graphically the game is average, and the cars move smoothly around the track.
