Legend Of Kage

1987Joku ilkeä Lohikäärmeiden Herra on taas vaivautunut näpistämään yhden prinsessan.

Kage on outo mies. Hän pystyy hyppäämään ilman vauhtia monen monta kertaa oman mittansa. Tämä kait kompensoi hänen jalkavammaansa. Kage, niinkuin muutkin, liikkuu eteenpäin pitämällä toista jalkaa ilmassa ja heiluttamalla sitä polvesta alaspäin. Mahtavaa animaatiota! Grafiikka on muutenkin varsin C-luokkaista eivätkä huonot äänetkään anna aihetta riemuun.

1987Some nasty Lord of the Dragons has once again gone to the trouble of pinching a princess. Mind you, the kidnapping scene mostly looks as if the princess is going along quite happily. Anyway, the girl has to be got back. Luckily the local hero Kage has a free slot in his appointment book that the princess rescue can be squeezed into.

And so off goes Kage, and to make any progress he has to kill four red ninjas, whereupon one blue wizard appears, and once you've carved up four of those the red wizard bothers to turn up as well. Killing him gets you to the next level. All of this amounts to a medium-weight rescue operation as recommended by SAL, the Heroes' Trade Union. Kage is a strange man. From a standing start he can jump many, many times his own height. I suppose this makes up for his leg injury. Kage, like everybody else, moves forward by holding one leg in the air and waggling it from the knee down. Fantastic animation! The graphics are pretty C-grade in other respects too, and the poor sound gives no cause for rejoicing either.

There's no point converting Taito's games if you haven't got the skill. Since the good Green Beret, Imagine has gone worryingly downhill. Apparently somebody buys even rubbish like this, otherwise it wouldn't get made. Selling cover, though.
