International Karate

1987International Karate on varmasti parhaasta päästä vaikka karatepelejä onkin paljon markkinoilla.

Pelissä ottelet joko konetta tai kaveria vastaan, oikeilla karaten turnajaissäännöillä. Taustalla soi tilanteeseen hyvin sopiva japanilaistyylinen musiikki. Pelin grafiikka on hieno; taustalla näet mm.

Muuten kannattaa harkita kahdesti International Karaten ostoa, sillä kiinnostus laskee nopeasti.

1987International Karate is surely one of the very best, even though there are plenty of karate games on the market.

In the game you fight either the computer or a friend, under real karate tournament rules. Japanese-style music that suits the occasion well plays in the background. The game's graphics are fine; in the backgrounds you can see, among other things, the Statue of Liberty and the pyramids of Egypt. The karatekas are well made too, and the rustle of their suits as a karateka moves creates an authentic-feeling atmosphere.

The game also has some nice little special touches: in two-player mode there is a skill test at the end of every stage, which both players take in turn.

Disappointingly, the moves are the same as in the old Exploding Fist.

As a whole the game is an ordinary karate game, with interest dragged down by the old idea and the already familiar moves. A small plus compared to Exploding Fist is the referee's speech bubbles.

The game can be recommended to karate fans who don't own Exploding Fist. Otherwise it's worth thinking twice before buying International Karate, as interest drops off quickly.
