1987Ehdottomasti eräs kaikkein parhaista strategiapeleistä. Vaikka alkuperäinen profetia massiivisesta yhteenotosta Euroopassa vuonna 1985 ei kaikkien onneksi toteutunutkaan, on tämä peli Saksanmaalle sijoitettuine taistelukenttineen todella mielenkiintoinen.
Pelissä kummallakin osapuolella on käytössään parin kolmen divisioonan verran nykyaikaisia pääosiltaan mekanisoituja joukkoja.
1987Definitely one of the very best strategy games of all. Although the original prophecy of a massive clash in Europe in 1985 did not, luckily for all of us, come true, this game, with its battlefields set on German soil, is really interesting.
In the game each side has at its disposal two or three divisions' worth of modern, mostly mechanised troops. The units' equipment ranges from attack helicopters all the way to Stalin's organs. Plenty of different information is available on every detachment, from which you can work out during play what the unit in question is still capable of, or whether it ought to be stood down to rest altogether.
There can be two players, and a solo player can choose either side. At the start of the game you can set many factors that affect how the game unfolds, so the program suits beginners and lieutenant generals alike. Control is by keyboard only.
You can give the detachments a really wide variety of orders. The range of actions is probably the best to be found on the market. On the other hand, the characteristics of the different units vary greatly, but every unit type is nevertheless good at something.
The accompanying instructions contain everything you need, but they are far too densely packed. When every sentence contains something important, someone with poor language skills in particular will struggle to take it all in. In this game especially, knowing the rules thoroughly is important, since a really wide range of different actions is available for the different units. On top of that, different types of unit perform with different effectiveness against different types of opponent.
