1987Nimeni on Sam Harlow, olette ehkä kuulleetkin minusta. Vuonna 1934 toimiessani yksityisetsivänä New Cityssä jouduin järjestäytyneen rikollisuuden tappolistalle.
Pelin pelaaminen on pyritty tekemään mahdollisimman helpoksi minimoimalla näppäimistön käyttö.
1987My name is Sam Harlow; you may even have heard of me. In 1934, while working as a private eye in New City, I landed on organised crime's hit list. In the same ruckus my wife was kidnapped, and I, among other things, got knocked out cold and strung up from the ceiling to dry.
My life hung in the balance countless times before I managed to work out who was behind the murder attempt. In fact, I became so famous that they even made a computer game about me, called Borrowed Time.
Borrowed Time is a graphic adventure game that also contains animations. The aim has been to make playing the game as easy as possible by keeping keyboard use to a minimum. The right-hand edge of the screen is reserved for the most commonly used commands, words and compass directions, as well as the save and load commands. By picking from among the words with the joystick, you can play the game for quite long stretches without touching the keyboard.
The game's vocabulary is by no means dizzyingly large, and the parser used wouldn't win any prizes either, but the plot is interesting and fast-moving. By saving your game often, dying constantly, trying everything you can think of and making threats with a gun, you'll get the job done all right.
All in all, one of the most entertaining graphic adventure games in a long time.
