Aliens - US. version
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

Aliens-U.S.Version ansaitsee olemassaolonsa.
1987Since you can make a game out of even bad films, Activision apparently believes you can squeeze two out of a good one. Electric Dreams' Aliens is already on the market, and now the parent company is releasing the Yankee take on it.
US-Aliens consists of six parts, tied together by digitised pictures from the film and snippets of dialogue. Thanks to this, US-Aliens is an exception among movie games: it actually follows the plot of the film.
Included are the landing on Acheron, four soldiers running the gauntlet in the atmosphere processor, breaking through a two-ton steel door with a horde of aliens pressing in, the escape through the ventilation system, fetching Newt, and the final showdown with the Alien Queen.
All the parts are more or less different from each other, so the boredom threshold is higher than usual. A very positive feature is the chance to play the same section for as long as you can stand it, without the program curtly throwing you back to the start. Good news for owners of cassette drives.
You can also jump straight to the next section if your skills aren't up to it. Some of the parts are so hard that the little veins in your head would be popping without this handy option.
The downside of cheating, though, is that you never get to see the ending. Oh dear, what a pity...
The sub-games are all fairly simple in themselves, but Aliens draws its strength from variety. The graphics range from good to middling, as do the games, and the Aliens theme sets the rhythm for the action.
Like the British version, the Yankee game too does justice to James "Terminator" Cameron's creditable sequel to one of the best films of all time. Aliens-U.S.Version has earned its right to exist.
