Tank
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1988Diktaattori on noussut jälleen valtaan.
Muutenkin legosotilaat on synkronoitu tankin liikkeisiin.
Silloin esimerkiksi tykkeihinkin saa jo edes jonkun verran kantomatkaa. Jostain syystä kantomatka näyttää yleensä olevan sama kuin vihollistankeillakin, joten taitavaa joystickin käyttöä tarvitaan.
Tank on neljään suuntaan scrollaava taistelupeli.
1988A dictator has risen to power once again. So once again an unnamed superpower sticks its nose into matters that are none of its business and sends its latest super-mega-tank to destroy the Leader's bunker.
And what a super-tank it is! The basic tank's cannons and machine gun fire as far as three centimetres, and since the enemy soldiers are usually about three and a half centimetres away, you can only imagine the destructive power. What's more, the Lego soldiers are synchronised to the tank's movements. The result is that you appear to be steering a sizeable herd of soldiers as well as the tank. They'd be easy enough to flatten otherwise, but the tank moves exactly as fast as the foot soldiers do.
Scattered around the battlefield are big letters, and by collecting them you get extra energy and extra features for the tank. Then, for example, even the cannons finally get at least some sort of range. For some reason the range usually seems to be the same as the enemy tanks' too, so skilful joystick work is needed.
Tank is a four-way scrolling combat game. The graphics are nothing special, and the game isn't up to much otherwise either. There are two modes for controlling the tank: in one the turret is fixed and fires the machine guns and cannon at the same time wherever the nose is pointing, in the other it can be swivelled about and the cannon fired from the buttons. The latter mode is only worth using if you happen to have a nimble-fingered mate on your hands; playing alone it's an easy way to play short games.
