Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1988Formula-simulaattoreita on aivan liian vähän ja niistäkin yli puolet on täyttä roskaa. Parhaimmistoa etsiessä käteen sattuu vain Revs. Onneksi apuun singauttaa renkaat ulvoen Electronic Arts ja iskee tiskiin Ferrari Formula Onen pelastaen päivän, tai oikeastaan koko loppuvuoden.
Pelaajalle annetaan mahdollisuus hypätä F1-karuselliin mukaan maailmankuulun Ferrari-tallin jäsenenä. Alussa voit valita 'vaikeusasteen'.
1988There are far too few Formula simulators, and more than half of those are total rubbish. Go looking for the cream of the crop and all that comes to hand is Revs. Luckily, Electronic Arts comes zooming to the rescue with tyres screaming and slaps Ferrari Formula One down on the counter, saving the day - or actually the whole rest of the year.
The player is given the chance to jump onto the F1 merry-go-round as a member of the world-famous Ferrari team. At the start you can choose the 'difficulty level'. You have four options to choose from: in three of them you get to drive, and in one you are the manager, who is along at the track only as a passenger, so to speak. The differences between the other three levels show up only in the use of the gears and in setting up the car.
Playing on the easiest level, the gears are automatic and setting up the car is easy - you just ask the chief mechanic for help. On the hardest level you have to make all the decisions yourself and fiddle with the gears yourself, which is no easy business, at least at first. The best thing is to start on the easiest level and play on it for the first couple of weeks.
The graphics, although a bit jerky, are finely detailed and create a sense of speed really well. The sounds are digitised - what else would they be. All in all, FF1 is one of the best simulations of all time and makes it into the Amiga's top three games. If you're interested in Formula racing or in simulations, buy FF1 right away.
