Rasputin

1987Toiminnalliset seikkailupelit tuntuvat senkun lisääntyvän. Nyt on vuorossa operaatio Kukistakaa Rasputin.

Päähenkilö on ritari, jonka tehtävänä on löytää ja tuhota The Jewel of the Seven Planets - jalokivi joka pitää mystisen Rasputinin henkeä elossa.

Rasputin on pelinä rakennettu mielenkiintoisesti, sillä siinä peli alkaa lopusta.

1987Action adventures just seem to keep on multiplying. Now it's the turn of Operation Bring Down Rasputin.

The hero is a knight whose task is to find and destroy The Jewel of the Seven Planets - the gem that keeps the spirit of the mystical Rasputin alive.

The game moves on two planes, the temporal and the timeless. One is ruled by soldiers, the other by creatures each stranger than the last, all of them deadly to the game's hero. Not that the hero is unarmed, oh no: a magic sword and shield help in destroying the creatures and the soldiers. Rasputin is an interestingly built game, since it starts from the end. The stones you are searching for, once collected, form a bridge to the jewel that keeps Rasputin's spirit alive, after which you get to destroy the spirit blazing behind it.

The three-dimensional graphics are more or less perfect, apart from "perspective errors" in some places: some steps don't show up when they should. Likewise the sluggish controls in the combat scenes are irritating, as is the fact that when the hero has given up the ghost and you return to the game screen, all the creatures you destroyed are alive again. So there's no shortage of difficulty in the game. As in all games that call for quick control, here too the joystick is the be-all and end-all.
