Jack the Nipper
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1987Olet pikkupoika, jonka pitää tehdä erilaisia tihutöitä. Jos kuitenkin törmäät ihmisiin, kummituksiin tai muihin otuksiin liian monta kertaa, näkyy kuvaruudun alalaidassa Jack pitelemässä hellänä olevaa takapuoltaan. Pelissä sinulla on viisi Jackia ja sitten kun heiltä kaikilta on peppu hellänä, on peli päättynyt.
Kuvaruudun alareunassa on tuhmuusmittari, joka kasvaa kun teet pahuuksia. Kun peli on päättynyt, näet kuinka tuhma olet ollut. Voit esim. hyppiä hyllyjen, kaappien ja muiden kalusteiden päälle, mistä voit löytää jonkin esineen, jonka voit ottaa tai tiputtaa.

1987You are a little boy who has to get up to all sorts of mischief. If, however, you bump into people, ghosts or other creatures too many times, Jack appears at the bottom of the screen clutching his sore behind. You have five Jacks in the game, and once every one of them has a sore bottom, the game is over.
At the bottom of the screen there is a naughtiness meter, which goes up whenever you do something wicked. When the game is over, you get to see just how naughty you have been. You can, for example, jump up onto shelves, cupboards and other furniture, where you may find some object that you can pick up or drop.
The game has some funny little details: for example, when the game is paused, Jack starts whistling away, or if you shoot passers-by with your peashooter, their faces turn purple and they start chasing you. There are other pranks to be found in the game too, which you can pull to make the naughtiness meter climb.
If you like good music, go and fetch a tape recorder and headphones, and the music will start playing.
