I.C.U.P.S.
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1987Enpä ole aikaisemmin nähnyt niin erilaisten osien sekoitusta kuin I.C.U.P.S. Pelin kolme ensimmäistä tasoa ovat kujanjuoksua vihollisalukseen. Neljännessä tasossa touhotetaan ympäri alusta helvetinkoneen osien perässä Jetpack-pelin tapaan.
Grafiikka ei I.C.U.P.S.:ssä ole ensimmäisten kolmen tason aikana mitenkään erikoinen. Neljäs taso yllätti erinomaisuudellaan.
Jos I.C.U.P.S. koostuisi vain kolmesta ensimmäisestä "kujanjuoksu"-tasosta, olisin armotta antanut kiinnostavuudesta arvosanan 5. Juttu haiskahtaa siltä, että kahdesta onnettomasta ohjelmasta on yritetty tehdä yksi hieno.
Grafiikalle olisin antanut 7, mutta ruudun oikeassa alareunassa oli eräs pieni erikoisuus, pieni TV-ruutu, josta voi katsella pätkiä Scramblesta, Pit Stopista, Moon Buggystä ja muutamista muista tunnetuista peliklassikoista.
Itse en paljon tästä pelistä pitänyt sen yksinkertaisuuden takia, mutta niille, jotka haluavat päästä ohjeiden sijaan nopeasti käsiksi peliin on tämä ihan omiaan.
1987I've never before seen a mix of such wildly different parts as I.C.U.P.S. The game's first three levels are a gauntlet run towards the enemy ship. On the fourth level you bustle around the ship after the parts of an infernal machine, the way you do in Jetpac.
The graphics in I.C.U.P.S. are nothing special at all during the first three levels. The fourth level surprised me with how excellent it was.
If I.C.U.P.S. consisted only of the first three "gauntlet" levels, I would mercilessly have given it a 5 for interest. The whole thing smells a bit like someone has tried to make one fine program out of two miserable ones.
I would have given the graphics a 7, but in the bottom right corner of the screen there was one little special touch, a small TV screen where you can watch clips of Scramble, Pit Stop, Moon Buggy and a few other well-known game classics.
Personally I didn't care much for this game because of its simplicity, but for those who would rather get stuck into the game quickly than read the instructions, this one is just the ticket.
