Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1987Lumi peittää maan, mutta tietokoneissa yleisurheilukausi senkun jatkuu. Mikäs pahan tappaisi. Ei tämä peli ainakaan, sillä Go For Gold on varmasti jokaisen bittiurheilijan unelmien täyttymys. Summer ja Winter Gamesien tasoinen sportipläjäys muutamalla kympillä!
Go For Gold ilmestyi alunperin Summer Gamesin aikoihin nimellä Hesgames. Nyt vuosia myöhemmin se on tismalleen yhtä hyvä kuin silloinkin. Lajeja löytyy kuusi: 100 m juoksu, 110 m aitajuoksu, pituushyppy, uimahypyt, painonnosto ja jousiammunta. Kaikki on toteutettu loistavalla grafiikalla ja aidontuntuisilla ääniefekteillä. Sellaiset kivat toiminnot kuin uusinta ja parhaiden suoritusten tallennus (levyllä!) lisäävät pelin viehätystä. Vain doping-testit puuttuvat.
Urheilupelejä harvoin jaksan pelata, mutta GFG:a jostain syystä tuli läiskittyä. Varsinkin painonnosto ja jousiammunta viehättivät.
Jos kuolaat rinnuksillesi kuullessasi sanan "urheilu", on Go For Gold sinulle Go To Shop. Thrustin ohella paras budjettipeli!
1987The snow covers the ground, but on the computers the athletics season just keeps on going. What could possibly kill off a weed like that? Not this game, anyway, because Go For Gold is surely every bit-athlete's dreams come true. A sports blowout on a par with Summer and Winter Games for a few tenners!
Go For Gold originally came out around the time of Summer Games, under the name Hesgames. Now, years later, it is exactly as good as it was back then. There are six events: the 100 m sprint, the 110 m hurdles, long jump, diving, weightlifting and archery. Everything is done with brilliant graphics and authentic-sounding sound effects. Nice features such as replays and saving your best performances (on disk!) add to the game's appeal. Only the doping tests are missing.
I rarely have the energy to play sports games, but for some reason I ended up hammering away at GFG. The weightlifting and archery in particular took my fancy.
If you drool down your front at the sound of the word "sport", then for you Go For Gold means Go To Shop. The best budget game alongside Thrust!
