Druid
Pelit was a Finnish-language (bi)annual book series published from 1987 to 1991 containing gaming-related articles, tips and most importantly game reviews. Here you can find all the reviews from the books. The reviews were originally written in Finnish; the English versions are translations of the Finnish originals.

1987Druidit olivat kelttiläisiä tietäjiä. Enimmäkseen heidän aikansa kului siihen, että he jyrkästi kiistivät pohjautuneensa Gauntletista. Toisinaan he pikkuisen pelastivat maailmaa kahdeksalta demoniprinssiltä.
Nämä ilkeät oliot asustavat Acamantorin vankilan alimmissa kerroksissa, kai lähinnä siksi että he näyttävät isoilta pääkalloilta. Mutta sitähän varten on Chaos-loitsu luotu että demoneista ei tarvi kärsiä.
Väittää Firebird mitä väittää, Gauntlet on Druidin henkinen isä. Druidissa on tarpeeksi omaakin, ettei suorasta kopioinnista pääse syyttämään. Kuvakulma kahdeksaan vankiluolaan on lintuperspektiivistä.
Loitsuja on monia. Niitä ja avaimia löytyy arkuista, joita on ripoteltu sinne sun tänne. On näkymättömyyttä, kaikentuhoavaa Chaos-loitsua ja tietysti kolme erilaista tappoloitsua. Jokainen olento kestää eri loitsuja eri tavalla.
Kaiken kaikkiaan Druid on tavattoman hyvä peli.
1987Druids were Celtic sages. Most of their time was spent flatly denying that they were based on Gauntlet. Now and then they did a spot of saving the world from eight demon princes.
These nasty creatures dwell on the lowest levels of Acamantor's prison, presumably mostly because they look like big skulls. But that's exactly what the Chaos spell was created for, so that you don't have to put up with demons.
Firebird can claim whatever it likes, Gauntlet is Druid's spiritual father. Druid has enough of its own that it can't be accused of straight copying. The eight dungeons are viewed from a bird's-eye perspective. The druid is set upon by all manner of blobby critters, and he can use various spells against them. Direct physical contact drains the druid's energy, which luckily can be topped up with pentagrams found here and there. Still, you'd better watch out that it really is a PENTAgram...
There are many spells. They, and keys, are found in chests that have been scattered here, there and everywhere. There's invisibility, the all-destroying Chaos spell and of course three different killing spells. Each creature stands up to different spells in different ways. The most fun spell is Golem, which conjures up a Golem that looks more or less like an ape. It acts as the Druid's bodyguard, and the real kicker is that a second player can control the Golem. You can manage it on your own too, but then the controls aren't easy.
All in all, Druid is an extraordinarily good game. As a two-player game it really comes into its own, but a lone player needn't fear dying of boredom either. Of something else, yes. After the game you're shown a title that indicates how well you did. If Gauntlet-type games become The Thing in '87, I won't be complaining.
